7 from 7: Child forced to eat meth, mother assaulted

 Good afternoon! We hope you're having a great Tuesday.

Here are some stories for you to check out today:

1. Titus County deputies say 26-year-old Trevor Ward assaulted his girlfriend in her home, and forced his way into her children's room, forcing one of the young children to ingest meth. This report is obviously one that angers most people, as we clearly saw in many folks' comments on our Facebook page.  Ward was charged with injury to a child, endangering a child, and possession of a controlled substance.

2. Heavy rainfall is expected in East Texas later this week (we can hear you cheering from here!) and today, many folks are feeling the cooler temps brought on by a cold front that has moved through parts of our area. 4. Coast Guard search-and-rescue crews are searching for an East Texas man who went missing during a commercial shark diving venture in the vicinity of West End, Bahamas on Sunday night.The missing man, John E. Petty, 63, is a chiropractor from Longview. Kristen King will have more on that tonight on KLTV News at 6.

5. East Texas Chef Christian Chavanne was on a Food Network show this past weekend, and our Jamey Boyum talked to him today about that experience. Make sure to join us for his story tonight at 6.

7. Police have arrested a woman in the shooting of Amanda Soape of Quitman. Shelby Elayne Adams, 18, of Mineola, was arrested on Monday afternoon. Bond was set at $50,000.
