An East Texas group is planning their own event for past and present warriors.
EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -
They personify sacrifice, honor and courage -- America's "special operations elite troops." Now, one national organization is putting together hunting and fishing events as a kind of therapy for these elite warriors. An East Texas group is planning their own event for past and present warriors.
"We had six combat soldiers show up for our event. We wanted to honor them and give something back," said Bill Warren, the president of the Combat Warriors. "Now we'll have 16 events with over 300 soldiers."
These board members have been with men who have attended their events, and held a recent meeting with participants, planning one for East Texas. The soldiers lived by the gun and have seen human suffering first-hand. These events give them a chance at normal life.
