Posted: Updated:

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - San Antonio police say a man has been fatally shot at a hotel along the River Walk after getting into a confrontation with a guest.

Police Chief William McManus told the San Antonio Express-News (http://bit.ly/1oQ0KCc ) that the man who was killed was reportedly breaking ceiling lights in a hallway of the Grand Hyatt San Antonio when he got into a verbal confrontation with another man.

McManus says the man who was eventually slain followed the man to his room, knocking on the door till it opened. McManus says the victim then tried to barge in and was fatally shot.

Officer Douglas Greene said the shooter had a concealed handgun license. Greene said Saturday afternoon that the department hadn't yet decided whether to treat the shooting as murder of justified homicide.
