Southeastern Texas Dealing With Flood Waters

Drenched residents of Coastal Texas woke up to what they didn't need, more rain.

The heavy rains have caused the worst flooding people in El Campo have seen in years. Now, many of them are headed for higher ground.

Mother nature has been relentless this past week in Southeastern Texas. Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in towns like El Camp, where 15 inches of rain forced some residents from their homes.

Some people were reportedly rescued by airboats and large trucks. One resident said she had "never seen anything like that before. And everywhere, it is terrible."

Authorities say parts of highways in Wharton County, including U.S. Highway 59, were impassable and closed to through traffic.

No injuries have been reported from the flooding.
