7 from 7: Headed back to jail

Happy Friday, East Texas!

Here are a few stories to peruse this afternoon:

1.Inmates relocated to three East Texas counties after their cell locks were found to be 'compromised' are now on their way back to their 'jail home.' The inmates from Van Zandt County were moved to Henderson, Kaufman and Upshur Counties when the locks were found to be compromised May 30.

2. Tonight we will find out more about the so-called "ninja robbers," including Frank Bowers, a former Rusk Co. resident who denies being involved in two robberies committed by his group in the area. He says he only took part in one robbery, and that was in Florida. We'll tell you what we found out tonight on KLTV News at 6.

3. Looking for some fun to get into this weekend? We have compiled a list for you to help with that! Click here to see What's going on in East Texas this weekend.

4. Tonight on East Texas News at 5, we'll be joined by The Luscious Crumb who will share a cookie recipe and some fun (and delicious) decorating tips. Maybe this will help next time the kids say "I'm bored!"  Make sure to join us for that.

5.The second case of Chikungunya has been confirmed in Texas, this time a Harris County resident. The Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services said that the person had recently traveled abroad. The virus is mosquito-borne.

6. Well, LeBron James finally made the official announcement: He's leaving the Miami Heat and heading back home to Cleveland. Read more about the decision here.

7. An economic development group turned in signatures to the Smith County Elections Office on Friday in the hopes of calling an election in November to allow limited alcohol sales in Lindale. The signatures will now be verified before an election is called. If enough signatures are gathered, the Smith County Commissioners Court must order the election for November.

Here's the link to the livestream of the news at 4, 5 and 6 on our website.

We'll see you soon!
