DPS asking for information about fatal hit-and-run

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

 Department of Public Safety troopers are asking for the public's help to identify a vehicle that may have been involved in a hit and run on July 3.

Troopers responded to a crash scene on County Road 384 just west of County Road 378 in eastern Smith County. When they arrived, they discovered a vehicle had run off the road. The driver, 48-year-old Jubal Bledsoe, was found injured just south of the roadway and transported to the hospital. Bledsoe later died from his injuries.

According to medical reports, Bledsoe's injuries were consistent with a person being struck by a vehicle. Investigators believe Bledsoe left his vehicle and was struck by another vehicle.
