HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Harrison County district clerk was arrested on Wednesday on four separate charges.

Mellinda Craig turned herself into the Harrison County Sheriff's Office and was arrested by Texas Rangers and was booked on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct, criminal trespass and assault causing bodily injury to a family member.

An arrest warrant shows Mellinda Craig recklessly pointed a gun at Barry Nelson on June 26, 2014. The warrant shows Nelson sent a video to Harrison County investigator Joe Bounds. According to the warrant, the video shows Craig pointing a gun at Nelson, who was recording the incident, asking Craig if she was going to shoot him.

Another arrest warrant shows Mellinda Craig hit one of her family members, in the face on March 1, 2014. The victim, known as B.T., is a minor. The warrant shows B.T. told officials she was at her grandfather’s house in Hallsville when Craig got into an argument with another family member. According to the arrest warrant, B.T. asked Craig to stop, then Craig grabbed B.T. and hit her in the face.

Mellinda Craig’s criminal trespass charge is related to an incident on June 21, 2014. An arrest warrant shows Craig refused to leave the property of Betty Mayfield. Mayfield is Barry Nelson’s mother. Nelson is the man Craig is accused of pointing a gun at on June 26, 2014. Court documents show Craig then threatened Mayfield by attempting to run her over with a vehicle.
