DENVER, CO (KLTV) - A Tyler resident received a token of appreciation from the president while on vacation in Colorado on Tuesday night.

Kalynne Arrick and her husband, Allen, were vacationing in Denver. They were dining at the Wynkoop Brewing Company when Secret Service agents started filing in. The Arricks thought President Barrack Obama was simply going to drive by the restaurant but soon realized he was actually coming in.

Agents searched the Arricks and cleared them to stay in the restaurant. When President Obama walked by greeting people, Kalynne introduced herself and told him her brother had died while fighting in Afghanistan in 2010. The president gave her a hug and a Challenge coin - a collectible that is highly valued among military personnel.
