Wednesday's Weather: Scattered showers with highs in the mid 90s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - A cold front will stall just to our north, bringing the chance for rain to East Texas for your Wednesday.

Don't forget your umbrella before you head out of the door, the chance for rain will return today! Scattered showers, and even a few storms, will begin building into our northern counties this morning. These showers will move to the southeast throughout the day. Central East Texas can expect showers just after the lunch hour, moving into Deep East Texas in the late afternoon. Rainfall totals are expected to stay under three quarters of an inch, so just light to moderate rain possible.

These showers will initiate along a cold front stalled to our north, meeting up with moisture streaming in from the gulf. Unfortunately, the cold front won't push through the area, so highs won't get any cooler today. We will warm into the mid 90s once again this afternoon. The chance for showers will continue overnight, with lows falling back into the low 70s by those early morning hours tomorrow.

The chance for rain will end for your Thursday, leaving partly sunny skies. Highs will stay in the mid 90s. A ridge of high pressure will build back over the region by the end of the work week, through the middle of next week, keeping skies mostly sunny this weekend. Highs will warm into the upper 90s by then.
