LUBBOCK, TX (KLTV/KCBD) - Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District has named current Bullard ISD superintendent Keith Bryant as the lone finalist for the district's new superintendent. Bryant has been with Bullard ISD for six years.

A twenty-one day waiting period will be in effect before Lubbock-Cooper can officially hire Bryant.

Bryant is a Lamesa, TX native and Texas Tech graduate who previously worked for the Lamesa school district.

Bryant says he's looking forward to building on an already strong foundation at Cooper.

"I think we want to make sure we continue to hold high academic standards and have the success that has been achieved academically, look to expand course offerings for kids that want to go to college and the workforce, to continue to support extracurricular activities that keep kids involved in education," Bryant said.

Pat Henderson is stepping down after 19 years as Cooper's superintendent.
