EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -
We have another beautiful day in store, with mostly sunny skies, and slightly warmer than average conditions.
A broad ridge of high pressure sitting over the western plains will continue to keep skies mostly sunny across our area today. Highs will warm right back into the low to mid 90s this afternoon, with winds from the southwest between 10-15 mph. A few of us could see light rain showers this afternoon, as these winds continue to stream moisture in from the gulf. Showers will be limited to Deep East Texas, for the most part, and very light. Any chance for rain will fall apart as the sun sets this evening (you really need the heat of the day!).
Overnight, partly cloudy skies return along with lows in the low to mid 70s by those early morning hours tomorrow. Winds will stay out of the southwest from 5-10 mph.
Ridging will begin to shift to the north slightly, allowing a cold front to build into the region Wednesday. This front, moving in from the north, won't quite make it through East Texas, so highs will stay warm. We will see a chance for a few isolated showers and thundershowers building along the front Wednesday through Thursday. Highs will stay in the mid 90s.
By the end of the work week, high pressure will build back into place, bringing sunny skies through the beginning of next week. Lows will stay in the mid 70s, with highs warming into the upper 90s. Copyright 2014 KLTV. All rights reserved.
