TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Several East Texans have offered to buy new Splash Kingdom tickets for a family of seven who had theirs stolen from them at Tyler State Park on Thursday.

A series of break-ins were reported on Thursday, July 3inside the park, and items stolen included a purse belonging to Stephanie Laplante, a local mother.

“We spent all day swimming and when we came back to our car we loaded up, the kids were tired, so we went. I was going to make a quick trip to the grocery store and I got to the grocery store and my purse was gone,” Laplante explained.

Laplante is a mother of five, and said inside the stolen purse were several tickets to the water park that her children had earned for good grades. The large family couldn’t afford to replace them, but because of the generosity of the many East Texans who have offered to help, it looks like the family will be going after all.
