EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -
Overall, expect a beautiful Fourth of July across East Texas! The cold front that moved through yesterday has cleared skies and will keep our highs just under average for this time of the year.
Mostly sunny skies will continue today, with a few showers and thundershowers possible this afternoon, mainly over Deep East Texas. These pop-up showers will clear as the sun sets this evening, so we shouldn't run into any problems for your fireworks. Highs will reach the low 90s this afternoon, with winds from the east around 5-10 mph. Overnight, we'll have partly cloudy skies, and lows in the mid to upper 60s by the early morning hours tomorrow.
For the weekend, mostly sunny skies will continue as a ridge of high pressure builds over the region. Highs will stay in the low 90s through the end of next week, with our next chance for isolated showers returning Wednesday through Thursday. Copyright 2014 KLTV. All rights reserved.
