KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Kilgore police are requesting cell phone records connected to the disappearance of East Texan Christina Rae Davison.

Investigators say they are checking new leads to try to find out what happened to Davison, now missing for six weeks.

Davison, 43, was last seen in Kilgore on May 16. She was reported missing when she did not show up for work at a Kilgore Whataburger. Investigators say her disappearance was almost a complete vanishing. The only sign of Davison was her purse, which was found along a roadway in Marshall.

"Currently we have very little leads; we don't have any leads coming in to where she is or where her car is. We had some tips early on; some were even out of state, but none of those were substantiated," says Kilgore Police Detective John Rowe.

Davison's car, which had temporary license plates, disappeared, and is still missing. Neighbors say her disappearance was extremely out of character.

"This is not like Christina, to just take off and nobody know where she’s at," said one neighbor.

Kilgore police are now requesting cell phone records from Verizon connected to the disappearance of Davison.

"Phone records can be real important when someone tells us they're at a certain place at a certain time, and their phone is pinging on a different tower that’s at a different location; obviously that gives us a reason to look into that person," Rowe says.

Police also say they are processing DNA samples from Davison's apartment for clues as to what may have happened.

"We have DNA samples we collected and that DNA has been sent to a lab," says Rowe.

Investigators hope records will show them when and where Davison's cell phone may have pinged off of cell towers.

"We're hoping that they will give us a clue to where certain people were at certain dates and times," the detective says.

Davison's family told us today that they have created a fund to help raise money for a reward for information in finding out what happened to Christina. Donations can be made at any Austin Bank branch.
