Turf Company Sues L.I.S.D.

The Longview school district now faces a 400 thousand dollar lawsuit by the company hired to install the synthetic grass at Lobo stadium in Longview. The panhandle-based company "Vibra-Whirl", began installing the synthetic turf in April, but school officials say the turf was wrinkled and not ready for the schools first game in August. The district maintains that not all the work has been completed, and that the company agreed to repair the field.

"We had a binding contract with vibra-whirl and not with their subcontractors but with them, and we expect a finished product and we don;t have a finished product, therefor we can't pay them" says superintendent Dr Dana Marable.

Vibra-Whirl was initially paid around 70-thousand dollars, but is suing for another 398-thousand. The company also installed the turf at Hallsville stadium, where it was also not ready for the school's opening game.
