TABC: Tyler teen killed in single-vehicle crash was intoxicated

Posted: Updated:
TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said the teenager who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on June 22 was intoxicated.

Department of Public Safety troopers said 17-year-old Braxton Nuon was driving his truck around 6 a.m. on June 22 when he lost control on a turn on Bascom Road just north of Whitehouse. Officials said he was traveling at an unsafe speed for that turn when his truck flipped. Nuon was taken to a Tyler hospital where he died just before noon on June 22.

TABC officials say that Nuon's alcohol level was "very high." Officials are now conducting a source investigation to find out who provided the alcohol to Nuon and if there were any others involved. If an adult bought the alcohol for Nuon, TABC officials say that person could face criminal charges.
