An East Texas couple posted bail Friday, awaiting an indictment for allegedly stealing hundreds of pounds of brass from grave sites.
Jacky and Ruby Brown were arrested at a residence in Gainesville in May after the couple fled the area. Authorities said the couple confessed to not only stealing from at least six East Texas cemeteries, but to various other burglaries as well.
According to the Van Zandt County Constables's Office, the couple, charged with state jail felony theft, were released on bond Friday. The Van Zandt County District Clerk says they are awaiting indictment, and a court date has not been set. Copyright 2014 KLTV. All rights reserved.
