CPS investigating shooting that injured Henderson Co. boy

HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A young boy was shot inside a home in southwest Henderson County on Thursday afternoon, and now Child Protective Services is getting involved.

According to the Henderson County sheriff, two boys were in the same room together when the shooting happened Thursday. Authorities believe one of the boys shot the other, but the believed the shooting was accidental. Friday night, CPS officials said that they are now actively investigating the incident. However, they would not say whether they suspect foul play.

The home is located near the Cross Roads community in rural Henderson County.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting as well as the accessibility of the firearm to the children.
