LAMAR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Lamar County Crime Stoppers says that 7000 pounds of copper wire have been stolen from utility poles over the past 3 weeks. The thefts add up to over 25,000 feet of copper wire lost between US 82 West, FM 38 North, FM 2820, and up to FM 79 in western parts of Lamar County.
Some of these thefts have disrupted service to numerous homes and businesses. Replacement costs are over $15,000 according to Lamar Electric Cooperative.
