HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - A detective says a man arrested in Texas in a three-decade-old central Pennsylvania murder has expressed relief that he no longer has to lead a double life.

Authorities in Dauphin County said Friday that 78-year-old Joseph Miller has been returned to Pennsylvania to face charges in the 1981 shooting death of 34-year-old Thomas Waller.

Miller was arraigned Thursday night in the commonwealth after waiving an extradition hearing in Texas, where he was arrested in rural Mineola in April.

PennLive.com (http://bit.ly/1jVyqvp ) reports that detective Richard Gibney of the Harrisburg police department told reporters on Friday that he believes Miller "was ready for it to be over."

District Attorney Ed Marsico Jr. said his office is confident of a conviction in the case despite the amount of time that has passed.
