(CNN) - Bob Harper is the man behind many of the transformations on The Biggest Loser. He's written a new book, Skinny Meals, and shared some of his nutrition tips.

Drink plenty of water. Sometimes when we think we're hungry we're really dehydrated. He says drink a glass of water before every meal.

"Chances are you're going be a little bit more full; you're going to be a little less likely to overeat," Harper said.

Another good routine is eating breakfast. Skipping meals can leave you far too hungry.

"Binging will happen, overeating will happen and it'll happen at night, at night when you're supposed to be watching every single thing that you're eating," Harper said.

A big fan of vegetables, he said says people can eat as many as they want of most varieties.

"No one is ever going to gain weight from eating broccoli, spinach, kale or cauliflower, unless they smother it in butter or cheese, of course," Harper added. "And I do not want you to."

And he said, keep the bad stuff out of the house.

"Clear out those temptations because you're at home at night and you're exhausted, and if there is this big chocolate bar sitting in your cupboard, you're going to eat it," Harper said.
