A Wood County Grand Jury has cleared two Mineola Police Officers of any wrongdoing, after they were accused of beating a man they took into custody.
Based on an investigation by the Texas Rangers, the jury decided there was not enough evidence to prosecute the men for beating 38 year old Jerry Pogue. After the accusation, one of the officers resigned because of family health problems, but has now returned as a reserve officer. The other officer was ordered to desk duty, now he is back on full duty as a patrol officer.
