TYLER, TX (KLTV) - There is a long list of East Texans in the NFL and speed wise Teddy Williams is at the top. The former John Tyler lion was back in town on Saturday to put on his annual speed and agility camp at his alma mater.

Williams was a track star in college at UTSA, but he put his sprinting career on hold to pursue a life in the NFL. Starting out as a wide receiver with the Cowboys, Teddy switched to cornerback and is currently a defensive back with the Arizona Cardinals.

Where williams is today after not even playing college football is an inspiring story and most of all he's proud to carry John Tyler with him.

"I just got it tattooed on me like three days ago," Williams said. "I'm a Lion for life. I have a Lion on me, I have J.T. on me. I love my schools, I love my alma mater and I represent them no matter where I am at in the country."

Williams added,"It was a hard transition I cant lie going from running straight to Mr. (Jerry) Jones wanting me to run backwards, something I have never done. It was a difficult transition but through hard work and veterans around me helped me get to where im I'm."
