Pilots gather in ETX for WWII ceremony

Posted: Updated:

A restored World War II plane is on permanent display in East Texas after a dedication ceremony and fly-in.

Members of the Lone Star Wing commemorative air force flew over Harrison County on Saturday as part of their spring fly-in.

Pilots from all over Texas and Louisiana made the trip to show their aircraft to the public.

The event also included the dedication of a World War II C-45 Expeditor, which will stay at the Harrison County airfield.

Many at the fly-in say events like this are important because they celebrate our veterans along with history.

The Harrison County fly-in is held twice a year. The next event is scheduled for November 1.
