The group Parents, Friends and Family of Lesbians and Gays hosted Longview's first-ever gay pride rally.
Hundreds of people showed up at Longview's Heritage Park to be a part of the event.
The rally lasted from 5-9 p.m. and drew some criticism from community members who are against homosexuality.
Protestors who objected the rally made signs and stood on a nearby sidewalk.
The event ended without any confrontations.
