COPY-Bush speaking at Clinton Library opening

WHITE HOUSE President Bush will be among those saluting his predecessor today at the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library.

The president's joining his father and former President Jimmy Carter at the Little Rock ceremonies. Of the living ex-presidents, only Gerald Ford won't be there.

White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan calls the opening a "happy and historic occasion."

Even though Bill Clinton denied his father a second term, Bush has gone out of his way to praise the 42nd president. At a June unveiling for Clinton's official White House portrait, he praised Clinton's "deep" policy knowledge and "forward-looking spirit."

Bush is stopping in Little Rock on the way to a weekend Pacific Rim summit in Santiago, Chile.
