EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -
The ridge of high pressure sitting to our east all week, will slowly start to make its way into our area over the next few days. As this happens, we’ll start to see skies clear, and highs get even warmer.
For today, we’ll continue to see a slight chance for showers and storms as moisture continues to stream in from the Gulf along the outer boundary of that high. These showers won’t be quite as scattered as yesterday, just isolated, mainly over Deep East Texas in the afternoon. Once again, these showers will fall apart as the sun sets this evening. Expect partly to mostly sunny skies today, with winds from the south around 5 mph, and highs once again reaching the low 90s.
For tonight, showers will clear as the sun sets, leaving partly cloudy skies overnight. It will become humid once again, as lows fall into the low to mid 70s by those early morning hours tomorrow.
We’ll round out the work week with mostly sunny skies as that area of high pressure builds in from the east. This trend will stick around through the weekend, with highs in the low to mid 90s.
By the beginning of next week, that ridge will slowly move back to the east, allowing moisture to build back into East Texas. We could see another round of scattered showers and storms Tuesday through Wednesday. Lows will stay in the low to mid 70s, with highs in the low 90s.
