TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Dash camera video from the Tyler Police Department shows the high speed chase that happened Sunday morning, spanning several counties.

Isaiah Christopher Roberts is accused of shooting three women at a home in Longview on Sunday morning, killing two of them.

Police say Roberts then took off in his truck leading police and several other agencies on a chase that would travel down Highway 271 through Longview and into the Tyler.

Tyler police were called around 9:25 a.m. on Sunday. The video picks up four minutes later as a Tyler police officer pulls up to the intersection of Loop 323 and Highway 271. The officer tries to block the intersection, clearing the way for the chase. You can see another Tyler police officer trying to set up road spikes. But, at more than one hundred miles per hour, it’s too late.

Then comes Longview police car after police car. The officer trying to throw spike strips can be seen running to pull them back. Then, the a Tyler police officer turns, attempting to block any cars from entering the intersection as several more law enforcement cars speed by.

The radio in the police car can be heard, “black dodge pick-up going south on 271.”

Then over the radio, “the shooting just occurred, they do not know if he dropped his weapon or not. He may be possibly armed.”

The suspect is caught minutes later, at 9:36 a.m., at the intersection of Palace and Gentry.

One wreck did occur on that route, but police say it had already happened and was not a result of the chase.

Roberts is being held in the Smith County Jail on five counts of accident involving serious bodily injury and murder. Police will ask that those five accident counts be dropped since the wreck was determined to have happened beforehand. His bond has not been set yet.
