Here are you stories to check out on this partially-rainy, partially-sunny Tuesday:

1. The man involved in a multi-county police chase through parts of East Texas Monday has been identified. Landon Benson is in critical condition in a local hospital as a result of injuries sustained as he tried to elude officers.

2. A man who authorities say kidnapped a woman, threatening to kill her, has been arrested. The kidnapping is said to have occurred on May 14. The woman said she had to jump from his vehicle, traveling at 75 mph, to save herself.

3. Mineola police have corrected the story of the teenager shot there on Sunday night. Originally, the police believed that Chris Griffin, the victim, was involved in an argument with the alleged shooter, Jason Russell Walters. However, after collecting more evidence, police now say that Griffin was not involved in the argument Walters had with others inside the store. This story is still developing, and we will have more details tonight on East Texas News at 5 and 6, when Melanie Torre shares her visit today with friends and family in Mineola.

4. Could popular energy drinks cause a heart attack in a healthy teen? One mother says so, after her daughter died of a heart attack at the beach with friends, who say she wasn't drinking any water, only energy drinks.

5. Harrison County jailer was found dead in his grandmother's home on Tuesday.Harrison County Sheriff Tom McCool said Deon Adams, 22, suffered a gunshot wound.Police are investigating whether the gunshot wound was accidental.

6. Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 34-year-old man on two sexual assault charges on Monday after the aunt of a 15-year-old girl walked into a bedroom of her home and allegedly found him getting dressed. He admitted to having sexual relations with the girl.

7. The East Texas town of Groveton is mourning the loss of one of the greatest players to ever put on an Indian uniform. Running back Rodney Thomas passed away on Saturday at the young age of 41. Our Taylor Hemness knew Thomas, and shared his memories with us here.
