Following a pre-sentencing investigation, an Angelina County judge sentenced a 23-year-old Lufkin woman to a two-year state-jail term on Monday for trashing her apartment back in September 2013.

Joshe Leesheen Johnson appeared in Judge Paul White's 159th Judicial District Court on Monday for a sentencing hearing. White found Johnson guilty of a state-jail felony charge of criminal mischief between $1,500 and $20,000 on April 30.

According to an arrest report, police were dispatched to Pershing Place Apartments in the 700 block of Schuller Street on Sept. 4, 2013, in reference to a criminal mischief. An officer spoke to the property owner, who said she had been renting the apartment to Johnson and had evicted her. She said Johnson came to the apartment on Sept. 3, 2013 to collect her belongings.

"The thermostat was busted," Owner Terri Allen said in court on April 30. "The dishwasher was pulled out of the wall. The only thing holding it in was two screws. There was trash in the sink. The medicine cabinet was busted. There was multiple ceiling lights that were busted, with glass everywhere. There was damage done to the bottom of the door."

Johnson did an estimated $4,405 worth of damage to the apartment.
