EAST TEXAS (KLTV)
Overall, we have a pretty nice start to the work week, with mostly sunny skies expected, and highs right where they should be for this time of year.
A ridge of high pressure will keep skies clear, for the most part, throughout the day. Winds will stay out of the south from 10-15 mph. These southerly winds will continue to bring a little moisture in from the Gulf, so we could see a few spotty showers this afternoon, mainly over Deep East Texas. Not much rain is expected, if any, with these showers. We'll really need the heat of the day to keep any showers holding together, so expect skies to clear as the sun sets.
Highs today will once again reach the upper 80s to low 90s across all of East Texas. We'll have mostly to partly sunny skies, with a slight breeze.
The chance for afternoon showers will continue all week, but we'll have the best chance for rain mid-week. By Tuesday afternoon, the ridge of high pressure keeping us dry, will shift slightly to the east. This will allow a disturbance to build into Central Texas, bringing a slight chance for showers and storms into East Texas through Wednesday.
That ridge of high pressure will build back into place by late-week, so the chance for showers will decrease. Partly to mostly sunny skies will continue through the weekend.
Lows will stay in the low 70s all week, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
