EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

Most areas north of I-20 have now been cleared by the Storm Prediction Center from the slight risk for severe weather. It appears that the area of East Texas that could see, and should see, some severe weather tonight will be over the southern-most portions of East Texas, or deep East Texas.

As we have been mentioning for most of the afternoon/evening, the thunderstorms over the northern sections of East Texas late this morning and early this afternoon drained the atmosphere of most of its energy, keeping the chances of additional severe storms to a minimum. There are, however, chances for scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm to form over the northern sections of East Texas through tonight, but most should be over the southern sections...generally south of an Elkhart to Nacogdoches to Sabine line.

A few showers and/or thundershowers are possible very early tomorrow morning (pre-dawn); then we should begin to see some sunshine by afternoon. The weekend appears to be fairly nice with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s and highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. No rain is expected this weekend.
