SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Three suspected burglars were taken into custody by Smith County Sheriff's Office Deputies after a brief pursuit on Thursday.

Larry Bernard Jones III, 23, Robert Kederrick Bradford, 26, and Phillip Lamarcus Ross, Jr., 29 were all arrested on Thursday. All three men are from Henderson.

At 10:20 on Thursday morning, a call was received by the Smith County Sheriff's Office dispatch from a homeowner in the 18000 block of County Road 234.

According to authorities, the homeowner's uncle, who also lives in the same neighborhood, was driving by and saw a vehicle that shouldn't have been there parked at the back of the residence.

The sheriff says the uncle entered the front door of the residence and saw three men exit the back of the home. The suspects got into their vehicle to flee the scene. The uncle then used his handgun to fire several shots at the suspects' gold 2004 Chevrolet Impala.

“Well, you have to out here. Well, he got the shotgun out to, not to try to kill them, but to make sure that somebody could find who did it, the owner of the car,” Marcus Washington, the homeowner, explained about his uncle shooting at the suspects.

At 10:41 a.m., Smith County Sheriff's office deputies, with the help of numerous other agencies, pulled over the Impala and arrested the three men. Two bullet holes were found in the front bumper of the car.

The three men will be charged with burglary. Their car was towed to the sheriff's office where it will be searched for stolen property.

Authorities will release the identity of the mean when they are formally charged.
