Thursday's Weather: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain. Highs in the upper 80s

Thursday's forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies. We could see an area of rain fading out as it moves in from the west Thursday morning. A second more potent round of showers and storms could develop as we move into your Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening. This will be due in part to a strong shortwave moving in from the northwest. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined portions of East Texas under a SLIGHT risk for severe weather Thursday afternoon and evening. Right now, the main threat looks to be damaging winds and large hail. This activity could extend into Thursday night and Friday morning, especially across portions of Deep East Texas. Friday afternoon will feature clearing skies and lowering humidity. Highs will only warm into the mid to upper 80s. The humidity returns once again for the weekend. Look for a mix of sun and clouds with a warm southerly wind. Temps will shoot up into the lower 90s for highs. The same pattern will extend into the new work week. More wet weather could be in the cards by the middle to latter half of next week.?
