EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -
We are waking up to another great start to your day. Temps are starting off in the low to mid 60s across the area. Low humidity is making if feel comfortable outside. Your Wednesday forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds today. Look for the humidity levels to be on the increase once again. Highs should warm into the upper 80s to lower 90s. Tonight, a few more clouds will be on the increase from the west. More humidity and clouds will only allow for overnight temps to fall into the upper 60s and lower 70s across the area. Your Thursday forecast will call for Mostly cloudy skies. We could see an area of rain fading out as it moves in from the west Thursday morning. A second more potent round of showers and storms could develop as we move into your Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening. This will be due in part to a strong shortwave moving in from the northwest. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined portions of East Texas under a SLIGHT risk for severe weather Thursday afternoon and evening. Right now, the main threat looks to be damaging winds and large hail. This activity could extend into Thursday night and Friday morning, especially across portions of Deep East Texas. Friday afternoon will feature clearing skies and lowering humidity. Highs will only warm into the mid to upper 80s. The humidity returns once again for the weekend. Look for a mix of sun and clouds with a warm southerly wind. Temps will shoot up into the lower 90s for highs. The same pattern will extend into the new work week.
