Finalist to be recommended for Tyler ISD athletic director

From Tyler Independent School District:

Tyler – Tyler ISD will recommend the hiring of Greg Priest as its new athletic director during the June 23 Board of Trustees meeting to be held in the Davidson Conference Room at the Plyler Instructional Complex. Pending board approval, Coach Priest will begin his responsibilities on July 1.

Coach Priest, an East Texas native, will bring to Tyler ISD more than 20 years coaching experience, 18 of which have been at the collegiate level in programs that include Tyler Junior College, Sam Houston State University, The University Texas at Arlington, and his most recent post as head golf coach at Baylor University in Waco. Coach Priest has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Physical Education from East Texas State University in Commerce.

A press conference introducing Coach Priest is slated for June 24 at 10 a.m. in the Davidson Conference Room. More details will follow after the June 23 Board of Trustees meeting.
