BOSTON, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Drew Harrington and Amanda Klane, founders of Yasso® Frozen Greek Yogurt, the fast-growing, first-to-market frozen Greek yogurt bar that's made its way into 14,000 stores across the nation in three short years, have been named finalists for one of the country's most prestigious business awards: the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2014 Award. The duo is nominated for the New England Region awards, winners of which will be announced the evening of June 10 at a ceremony at the Sheraton Boston and will advance to the national stage this fall. The awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Yasso's sales have been heating up since their inception three years ago, putting up a fight against many legacy brands in the frozen aisle. After a strong northeast launch in 2011, Yasso quickly jumped to the national stage with coast-to-coast distribution. Early this year, the company introduced a line of ice cream inspired flavors meant to satisfy those indulgent cravings with no guilt. These new bars were quickly picked up by retail customers, and the early consumer response has been overwhelmingly positive with flavors such as Sea Salt Caramel and Mint Chocolate Chip.
"We truly appreciate EY's recognition of our brand growth – we're proud of what our team here at Yasso has accomplished," commented Yasso Co-Founder Drew Harrington. "We set out to create a product line that delivered on both taste and nutrition, and we are happy that our approach has resonated so well with our retail partners and consumers across the country." This summer, Yasso will hit the streets sampling over one hundred thousand new fans via a custom-designed Yasso sampling truck. "We're excited to be building brand awareness and gaining trial daily while continuing to innovate within the category," explained Harrington.
