Tyler's Fourth of July Fireworks Show at Lindsey Park will not happen this year after volunteer organization disbands.
TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
As of Wednesday, the Fourth of July Tyler Fireworks Show at Lindsey Park will not happen.
According to a former member of the Tyler Jaycees, a volunteer organization, the group has disbanded. The Jaycees were responsible for several local events, including the Tyler Fireworks Show at Lindsey Park.
Now that the group has disbanded, the date of the show is unclear. According to Tyler Parks and Recreation, no permit has been issued for this year's Fourth of July show. They say, it costs about a thousand dollars per minute to run one of these shows. Currently, no show has been scheduled.
The company that runs the fireworks, say that the Tyler Jaycees contacted them, saying they would no longer need the company's services.
