TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire in the 700 block of W. Second Street in Tyler on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Tyler Fire Department, the initial call came around 4:15 p.m. with reports of smoke and flames visible from the structure. The first responders reported heavy fire in the residence and called for a second alarm.  A large plume of dark smoke in the area was visible from downtown.

Although there were early reports of an explosion, Tyler Fire Marshal Paul Findley said first responders believe the windows of the home broke out because of the fire.

The Tyler Fire Department says five engines, one ladder company, the district chief and a fire investigator responded to the scene. The Tyler Fire Marshal's Office will be conducting the investigation after firefighters gain control of the blaze.

No injuries have been reported.

The family of the residence did not have renter's insurance. To help, donations can be made at the First Convenience Bank/First National Bank of Texas in the name of Shavieka Davis Family.
