Police: Man arrested after shooting brother in back

MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) -

A Marshall man is custody after police say he shot his brother in the back during a fight on Sunday afternoon.

At around 4:23 p.m., police responded to 1606 Hynson St in Marshall after reports of a disturbance and gunfire. While en route, officers received information that a gunshot victim was at the Squeaky Clean Express.

When officers arrived at Squeaky Clean Express, they found a gunshot victim, later identified as Bobby Fred Williams, 59. Bobby Williams suffered a single gunshot wound to the back and was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Bobby Williams informed officers that he was shot by his brother, Charles Williams, 60, during an argument at 1606 Hyson St.

The officers that responded to 1606 Hyson St. found Charles Williams and took him into custody. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Harrison County Jail.
