AUM won the school's first NAIA softball national championship on Thursday with a 10-6 win over William Carey in Columbus, GA.
Montgomery native Kayla Hale drove in five runs to lead the Warhawks from the plate.
Columbus native Jade Sasser drove in two RBI on the night.
Taylor Powell (22-1) got the win for AUM. She struck out six batters before being taken out in the seventh inning.
AUM coach Chris Steiner-Wilcoxson would turn to Cassie Daniels for the save with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
The junior would force a ground out to seal AUM's first national championship.
AUM finishes the year 52-12.
