(KLTV) - It's a tale of two friends like no other.

Mr. G, a 10-year-old goat, and a burro named Jellybean, lived together for 10 years on the property of a hoarder. Their owner could barely take care of herself, let alone care for these barnyard animals.

After living in neglect for years, these animals were rescued. Two animal sanctuaries offered to help. One could care for Mr. G, and one could care for Jellybean, but neither could take both. The duo would have to split paths.

Mr. G arrived to Animal Place after an 8 hour trip. He refused to eat, and spent days lying in his stall. Health exams showed there was nothing physically wrong with the goat, so the animal sanctuary determined it was mental. Mr. G missed his burro companion.

Animal Place decided that it was time to reunite the pair. It took volunteer Jeff McCraken 14 hours to make the roundtrip to bring Jellybean to Animal Place. The sanctuary had never cared for a burro, but they would make an exception for these friends.

Mr. G perked up as soon as he heard Jellybean being unloaded. It took him a few takes to realize this was really his friend. The goat's demeanor changed drastically. He was up and about, following his burro friend. He even began to eat again!

Animal Place was inspired by the friendship, deciding to keep the pair instead of putting them up for adoption.
