Good afternoon!

Here are some stories for you to peruse on this Tuesday afternoon:1. Voters head back to the polls Tuesday, casting their ballots in statewide runoff elections.
High profile positions such as Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General are on the ballot Tuesday, along with a number of other statewide and house offices. Polls close at 7 tonight, so get out there and vote, then join us on KLTV.com and KLTV7 for the latest results!

2. A Longview man charged in the murder of a 4-month-old child has turned himself into police. Kendrick Jamal Elliott, 22, faces murder charges for the February 2013 death of an infant, Ja'Kavieonna Javette Elliott.

3. Emergency crews are on the scene of a one-vehicle accident in Tyler after a truck left the roadway and went over an embankment on Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses say the man was driving south in the 440 block of Paluxy Drive when his pickup truck drifted off the road and crashed down the hill.

4. Safety regulators have quietly placed two extra conditions on construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline after learning of potentially dangerous construction defects involving the southern leg of the Canada-to-Texas project.The defects involved high rates of bad welds, dented pipe and damaged pipeline coating - and they've been fixed.

5.  Texas game wardens investigated seven drowning deaths and another four boating-related fatalities over what proved to be one of the state’s deadliest Memorial Day weekends. In addition to handling those tragedies, game wardens issued hundreds of water safety citations and made numerous arrests, most for boating while intoxicated.

6. A Livingston couple wound up behind bars after police officers allegedly found methamphetamine while responding to a 911 call about a woman hidden in the wall of the couple's home Saturday. The woman, Laura Hollis, claimed Daniel Homan was keeping a woman in the house, and officers found a hole in the wall where Hollis allegedly was trying to find this woman in the wall. 7. Showers and storms will continue as an area of low pressure slowly moves into the area from the Texas panhandle throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. Rainfall will likely become heavy at times; make sure to watch Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto at 4, 5, and 6 for the latest and best forecast in East Texas.
