TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Emergency crews are on the scene of a one-vehicle accident in Tyler after a truck left the roadway and went over an embankment on Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses say the man was driving south in the 440 block of Paluxy Drive when his pickup truck drifted off the road and crashed down the hill. Bystanders rushed to help the driver out of the truck to safety. Authorities used rope to pull the man out of the ravine.

"I was just driving behind him when all of a sudden he pulled into the turning lane and I thought he was going to turn, but he just kept going and went right across all of the traffic, hit the sign and went all of the way down into the ditch," said Jordan Snell, who saw the accident.

When emergency crews arrived, the driver was transported to the hospital by paramedics.
