Unusual Concert At Longview Museum

Today at the Longview museum of fine art, visual art was turned into "music". Musician-slash-artist Bill Close was in town for one of his unique concerts. "Close" tours the country turning "buildings" into musical instruments, by stringing 40 to 50 feet of wire in appropriate places, essentially making a harp. He turns his designs into percussion or stringed instruments, all in a effort to show his audiences that "anything" can be art!

"It's a nice experience for people because it forces pushes them to view music and art in a different way, the instruments are often connected to the architecture for instance, we're actually turning the building into a musical instrument" says Close.

Close moves on to Corsicana next week for another performance.
