More Flu Shots On The Way

If you're worried about getting the flu, more vaccines are on the way.

According to the Northeast Texas Public Health District, the state is getting half a million more flu shots. But it won't be until at least December 19.

Eleven providers in Northeast Texas will be giving out a total of 56,000 flu shots.

The Health District's director, Nick Sciarrini, says December is not too late to get your flu shot: "The flu season peaks January-February. So it's not going to be too late even in January to get your flu shot."

Sciarrini says this batch of shots is for high-risk adults, not children. He says high-risk children can still get shots, including at the Health District. Contact your doctor to find out how to get yours.
