NOONDAY, TX (KLTV) -
Two teenagers took a man suffering from a gunshot wound to a clinic in Noonday on Wednesday evening.
A woman working out at the East Texas Medical Center clinic on Highway 155 said the teens brought the man to the clinic thinking it was an emergency room. The boys said they worked at Pine Cove Christian Camp and found the man on the side of the road. The woman said no medical staff was at the clinic when the boys arrived, but a registered nurse at the clinic gym provided first aid while another woman called 911.
Counselors at Pine Cove say the camp was on lockdown for 45 minutes on Thursday night because of a manhunt. However, there are no campers there this week. Pine Cove's chief operating officer said the victim appeared to be a resident of a nearby neighborhood and was not affiliated with the camp.
Area homeowners told KLTV they saw a helicopter with a spotlight flying over their homes around 8:30 on Wednesday evening.
