Two men arrested after high speed chase from Longview to Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Two people have been arrested after leading authorities on a high speed chase from Texas to Louisiana Thursday morning.

Officials say the chase started around 2:45 a.m. in Longview, Texas. Longview police say they were following suspected car burglars. That's when a silver four-door Nissan Altima sped off on I-20 driving more than 100 miles per hour. Police say it took less than 30 minutes for the chase to make it to Shreveport.

Caddo Parish deputies and Shreveport police joined the chase. Police say the people inside speeding car jumped out in the in 2500 block of Quinton Street in Shreveport's Ingleside neighborhood. That's where two men were caught.

Police say merchandise was recovered from multiple car burglaries including car stereo equipment, backseat car monitors and car rims.


One of the suspects was taken to University Health for chest pain. Both men are charged ace felony flight and burglary.
