Gregg County sheriff arrests theft suspect

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Moises Penaloza, 27, has been arrested in connection with the theft of over $3,200 in lawn maintenance equipment.

According to the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, residents near Weber Landscaping on North Fuller Road called the Sheriff's Office just after midnight Tuesday, after seeing two suspicious people on the landscaping business property. Deputies responded to find two box trailers had been broken into and lawn maintenance equipment valued at over $3200 was missing.

Witnesses provided a vehicle description and a license plate number that led to the discovery of the the suspects. Longview Police located Penaloza on Green Street, where they found the stolen lawn equipment in his vehicle. The other person in the car fled the scene on foot.

Penaloza is being held in the Gregg County Jail on $5,000 bond.
