Two survive after 18 wheeler crushes car on I20

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Two people in a Toyota Corolla managed to survive without major injuries after an 18 wheeler changed lanes over the vehicle as they traveled on I20 in Shreveport late Saturday morning.

It happened around 10:20 a.m. on I20 E where I20/220 merge. The man and woman in the Corolla, who have not been identified, have been taken to the hospital with only minor injuries.

One of the occupants of the low-slung vehicle was climbing out the window as first-responders arrived.

Traffic was slowed as crews worked to clear the wreck, but all lanes have since reopened.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. It's not known yet whether there will be any citations.
